University TeacherJonathan Barge.

Jonathan began his journey as a musculoskeletal therapy specialist in 2003 and has been providing high-quality care to patients in
Torquay since 2010.
Jonathan is currently attending Torrens University Australia, by scholarship, specialising in Clinical Health Sciences
and Exercise Prescription. He will complete these essential studies in mid-2026. He also has extensive experience as a university
teacher in the health science disciplines, including the medical services space.

Our Torquay clinic provides a very spacious, comfortable, and professional clinical environment for Myotherapy, including strengthening, conditioning, and postural correction exercises.

The clinic has a dedicated entry and exit, with two waiting room areas - one outside for those who love the sun and the ocean air, and inside for warmth and a place to rest before and after treatment.
Surfcoast Remedial Massage & Myotherapy Torquay provides highly effective Myotherapy techniques to assess posture, range of motion issues, remove pain, and restore muscle, spinal and joint function mobility.

Myotherapist Jonathan also assess and treat common musculoskeletal pathologies, including neurodynamic screening and joint pathology.
The initial appointment provides the perfect opportunity for us to discuss your pain, assess your overall posture, any range of movement deficiencies and then perform orthopedic testing to assist with diagnosing pain and dysfunction.

This appointment is crucial - as it enables us to understand your injury or presenting pathology, how we can effectively treat it, and then provide any ongoing support.
Importantly, it gives you adequate time to discuss your injury, pain or discomfort, and how it is effecting you.
Ongoing Myotherapy consultations provide the opportunity to assess whether the treatment has met expectations and goals, and is bringing about positive change, and treat new symptoms and causes of pain.

Myofascial Dry needling is not a preferred option for many patients, which is OK!

Other methods can be used to assist with the treatment of myofascial and local trigger point pain. This is always discussed in our consultations to work through which treatment methods you are most comfortable with.
